Step Three: Then install the menu crash fix. Step Two: Install the 4.2 patch to your MAIN Medieval 2 total war Folder(M圜omputer/C/Program Files x86/Steam/Steamapps/common/medieval ii total war).not the kingdoms grand campaign MOD folder! ( DONT install the patch to the desktop unless your sure you can install the patch the correct way to the main Medieval II total war folder.I tried and failed horribly and had to reinstall the whole game) Step One: I download the 3.0 installer and when its finish I run it like normal Though when I tried first I had "The Third Age Total War" mod installed.(I dont anymore after having to reinstall the whole game.though I dont think Third Age would matter if i did still have it installed.though I could be wrong) Since Stylix asked me to help to show how I got this to work with steam quite well besides a few minor errors (such as ireland referring themselves as scotland) here is how I wentįirst of all I have Windows Vista 64 bit edition. So I am not sure of the locations for windows 7 or XP (Though I am sure they are close to the same)Īlso I do NOT have HHB installed at present just KGCM 4.2! (I will eventually install HHB for my next play through so if need be I can write instructions)Īlso I have no other mods at present installed.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Virian.Steam users To those who want to use this mod with STEAM But i guess playing on H/H difficulty you would expect the campaign to be well.hard. I normally play Stainless Steel and have never come across the AI being compensated this way. Then the previously 100 strong peasant garrison turned into a 1k+ garrison full of elites when you have a quarter stack left of semi professional troops after your armies had been brutalized.Ī way I've seen to avoid this is to have some enemy stack in the vicinity of the settlement but not close enough to actually help.Oh ok. If it was any of that I'd be praising the system but instead it's bloody infuriating that after you had like 3 fights against the enemy AI your army is in shambles and your reinforcements which are a turn away are little better than peasants. By itself it wouldn't be so bad if the troops spawned made sense and they got mercenaries or some cheap/ city units or at least stuff that's recruitable in the besieged settlement. This is normal and meant to stop players from pretty much curbstomping the AI (who needs the help badly).
